CABIN INSPECTION (1st Actions)

Once our pre-flight preparation in the classroom is completed, we move to the aircraft. Once at the aircraft, there are a series of actions that MUST be completed before we proceed further.

Once in the cockpit, before doing anything else, make sure to complete
FOUR ACTIONS. These are listed below:

1. SET PARKING BRAKE!
2. PULL ENGINE START CIRCUIT BREAKER
3. ALL OF FOLLOWING SWITCHES :
   — Mixture Control Lever OFF!
   — Fuel Selector OFF!
   — Battery / Ignition switch OFF!
   — Fuel Pump switch OFF!
4. Gear Lever DOWN & LOCKED!

Proceeding with any external inspection without these 4 actions checked can present dangers to pilots and anyone else in the vicnity.

Now, remove the Control Column Lock and proceed to the ‘Exterior Visual Inspection’, aka the ‘Walkaround’.
